Corporate Information – About 737 Simulations
History
Six years ago, two technology-oriented guys (OK, we admit we're nerds) started talking about bringing the experience of airline flight simulation to the public. Everyone we spoke to said it was a no-brainer and got all glassy-eyed when we talked about it, thinking about their chance to fly a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320. So we started researching the idea. Our first hurdle wasn't so much technical ... the group we'd gathered around us were serious technology junkies ... we had extensive experience in the hardware and software end of things, had business and management experience, and even had some ATC and flight experience. The stumbliing block back then was purely financial.
Six years ago these full-size cockpits were still prohibitively expensive. Granted, not the tens of millions of dollars the full airline simulators cost, but still the return would not have been worth the investment. But by 2006 prices had dropped dramatically and there were a handful more companies who had entered the simulator building market who were capable of delivering the required hardware, and the experience we demanded, at a reasonable cost.
737 Simulations plans a late 2008 or early 2009 launch with our first facility in the Greater Toronto Area. Why not pre-book your flight today and save?
